Hello,
I was interested in buying one of your polar express bells because my child was saying how much she loved the sound of the bell in the polar express movie and all she wanted was a Real Sleigh Bell from Santas Sleigh.
I wanted to buy her one. I was just wondering though if your bells really sound like the bell in the polar express, or if the look of them are just similar to the bell in the polar express?
If you could please email me back with some information on this, that would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure I am getting the right bell.
Thank you,
Mom
It is surprising at how often I get this question, so, following are a few thoughts about our bells.
Polar Express Bell:
The sound of the bell in the movie varies considerably from scene to scene, as does the size and shape of the bell, most people do not notice this when they only see the
movie once - we have looked at it closely many, many times. As near as I, and more musically inclined friends, can tell sound of the bell was created by a symphony orchestra, Campanile Bells and
probably a synthesizer, it was after all a illustration and not a real bell so they had to create a sound for the bell. The Polar Express style bell is a nicely made solid brass bell and follows the general shape
of the bell used in the movie. Unfortunately the shape of that bell does not really allow it to "ring" as nicely as it should.
The shape is to confined and the narrow slits are not big enough to really let the sound out. It has a nice jingle to it but is not real loud and does not have the carrying power of a real sleigh bell.
The Polar Express bell is a good choice if you are looking purely for a movie replica.
True Believer Sleigh Bell:
On the other hand our True Believer Bells are real using sleigh bells made from the same pattern that has been around for centuries. Everything about these bells has been tried and proven to
make a really nice rich sounding bell with excellent tone and carrying quality. Because they are hand sand cast bells, the same process that has been used to produce the very best bells for centuries,
these bells have exceptional sound qualities. These are true Heriloom quality sleigh bells that will be handed down from generation to generation to create a special family memory.
On a cold winters night you can hear a full set of these bells, carried by eight tiny reindeer, ring for from a long, long ways away. We make and sell a lot of
items to professional Santa's and Santa's helpers all around the world and the bell of choice is the True Believer Sleigh Bell.
So, if you are looking for a bell that is reminiscent of the movie bell and sound is a minor concern, after all if you believe it really does not make much difference what it sounds like - ask any
6 year old who has received one of these bells- then the Polar Express Bell is the best choice. However, if you are looking for a real sleigh bell, one that Santa actually would use on his sleigh, then the
Believer Bells with their authentic musical tone is the only way to go!
Hope the above helps in some small way to help you make a choice, you really can not go wrong either way.
Thank you
