Fancy Door Hanger Sleigh Bells

These bells are specifically made to hang on door knobs. They are patterned after Fancy Draft Horse Hip Bells where they would have hung off of the backstrap to provide a little extra "jingle" to the turnout. The 3 inch diameter Solid Brass, or Stainless Steel, ring will slip right over most door knobs. Each set is carefully hand crafted out of fine domestic English Bridle Leather Solid Cast Brass Bells. All Sets are available in your choice of bright brass finish or Silver (Chrome) finish. The bells are separated by traditional heavy leather keepers which also serve to protect your door from being scratched by the mounting lugs on the back of the bells. Perfect for displaying in your home during the holidays, or year round, or to give as gifts. .

Shown at right our three of our most popular Fancy Door Hangers. They all start at the bottom with a solid cast brass #1 bell which is aproximately 1-1/8 inches in diameter, and the sleigh bells get progressively larger as they go up the tapered body of the hanger.

King Size Door Bells

Here is one of the most impressive sets of Door Bells that we have made. This set features a full graduated set of bells from our largest #15 Bell, which is a whopping 3 inches in dia. down to our smallest #1 bell all mounted on a 3 inch wide by 48 inch long Black English Bridle Leather Strap. The strap is tapered to accent the graduated bells and is doubled and stitched to protect your door from being scratched by the mounting lugs on the bells.

Custom Door Bells

Here are several bell sets that were made to customer specifications.

The first strap, pictured on top at right, is tapered to accent the graduated bells. The back strap is decoratively stitched with contrasting thread and the bells are mounted on a woven second strap. This particular set was made on Chestnut leather with brass #1 through #5 Bells.

The next picture, on the lower right, shows a couple sets of monster door hangers, even though they do not look like it in the pictures! For comparison, the top set is one of our standard 6 bell Fancy Door Hangers. The center set was made with #15, #13, #12 and #10 Bells and measures 19 inches long. The lower set was made with three #13 and three #11 Bells on Chestnut leather and measures 30 inches in length!

One of a kind Wall Hangers

This one was a fun project!

We worked closely with the customer on this one to design a one of a kind wall hanger for their Southwest style home. They gave us a rough idea and concept drawing and then we worked out the details over the course of several months and many telephone calls and E-mails. Before proceeding I made up 6 concept sketches, using different designs and combinations of materials before we settled on the one you see here.

This beautiful rustic wall hanger is almost 3 feet in length and 10 inches wide. We used Chestnut English Bridle Leather for the body, doubled and hand laced together with hand dyed Kangaroo lace imported from Australia.

The cording, top and bottom, is 100% Mohair Wool Cinch Cord. The ends of the lower cords were hand wrapped with matching cotton cord and then hand frayed at varying lengths to soften the bottom of the piece.

The Solid Brass Sleigh bells Ranged in size from #1's to #4's in the center.
